Call for Sciathon Projects: Physics as a Driver for a Sustainable World
Do you have an idea for a product, an application, a solution that could make the world more sustainable? And is that idea based on physics research? Then use the upcoming 4th Lindau Online Sciathon (19–21 April 2024) as a first step to further develop your idea into a concept.
This year the topic is “Physics as a Driver of a Sustainable World”. For 48 hours, you’ll work with a team of Lindau Alumni and 2024 Young Scientists to answer three key questions for your concept:
- What is the idea?
- Why is it revolutionary?
- What needs to be done so that the idea can be implemented or investigated?
From new findings in materials science and the application of data analysis techniques from astrophysics for more efficient simulations in everyday life to the sustainable development of quantum technology and new solutions for global energy problems: We’re looking forward to your fresh idea at an early stage.
Submit your project idea here until Sunday, 3 March 2024.
The best projects will present their concept during the 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. During an exclusive workshop, the top groups will discuss how to turn their ideas into a viable (business) concept with prominent members of the Lindau Meetings’ community, potentially including Nobel Laureates and possible funders of the idea. Deep tech venture capital experts will help the selected project teams prepare for the workshop and continue to accompany the projects as a mentor.
All Lindau Alumni are of course also invited to join a team for the 4th Lindau Online Sciathon. Registration will begin in mid-March 2024. We will release more details on the timeline, rules and more on sciathon.org and in the Lindau Alumni Network.
