70th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting Takes Place Online
The 70th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (27 June – 2 July 2021) takes place virtually as an online event. In the context of the continuously uncertain situation and the lack of perspectives and guidelines for meetings and larger events in Germany, the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings made this decision heavy-heartedly.
The previous plan of a hybrid event, meaning online and with some Nobel Laureates and young scientists on site in Lindau, will thus no longer be pursued for this summer. The organisers are focusing on an extensive and interactive anniversary programme, in which around 80 Nobel Laureates and more than 600 international young scientists will participate online and interact with numerous guests.
The Council has also decided on another important change: For the more than 600 young scientists selected for the interdisciplinary 70th Lindau Meeting from all over the world, the door to Lindau is still open. Their selection remains valid and the Council will admit them to the next meetings of their respective disciplines in the coming years (Chemistry 2022, Physiology or Medicine 2023 and Physics 2024).
