8th Lindau Nobel Meeting in Economic Sciences Begins

The 8th Lindau Nobel Meeting in Economic Sciences (#LINOecon) begins today! 


This afternoon, Countess Bettina Bernadotte af Wisborg, President of our Council, officially welcomes more than 20 Nobel Laureates, almost 300 Young Scientists from 56 nationalities, and distinguished guests to Lindau’s Inselhalle. Mario Draghi, former Italian Prime Minister and ECB President, will be inducted into our Foundation's Honorary Senate.

The Opening Day will already set the tone for a week of exchange across generations and borders: 
➡️Panel Discussion on Research and Innovation in a Tripolar World with Nobel Laureates Steven Chu and Jean Tirole as well as Mario Draghi, Maria Leption, and Thomas Schafbauer
➡️Lecture by Nobel Laureate Guido W. Imbens on Econometrics and Causality
➡️Lecture by Nobel Laureate Paul M. Romer on Digital Authenticity and the Future of Truth


Throughout the week, the scientific programme will explore pressing topics such as:
• Institutions and Development
• Fragility of Financial Systems
• Climate Policies and International Cooperation
